There
is so much good snowboard gear to choose from. The main point is choosing
one suited to you.
There are three main styles in snowboarding: freestyle, freeride and
freecarve/race. In terms of numbers, snowboarders are pretty evenly
split between freestyle and freeride, if your in the race category
you already know it. Most snowboard gear fits into these three categories
Manufacturers
design boards for each of these styles of riding, so it is good to
have a basic understanding of where you fit before you shop.
Womens
snowboards are becoming popular, designed with more flex for lighter
weight bodies and smaller for smaller feet than men.
You
can find entry level boards for around $225 and up. Medium boards
for about $350+ and Advanced models with extra features and very lightweight
for those who know how to take advantage of them will cost you $450+
As far as clothing liners in gloves are a must and besides extra features
such as pockets and accessories you'll find the biggest disparity
in price to be found in the quality of waterproofing and ability of
the clothes to vent and breathe.
